Is SMI / MDIO / MIIM Interface Possible?

Hello,

I'm looking for a solution that will allow me to access my Ethernet switch via the SMI / MDIO / MIIM (apparently these are all names for the same interface).

Without sending a timing diagram of the interface, it is best described as I2C with supplemental clock cycles before the start and after the end.

I'm trying to read the registers in a Realtek switch.

Hopefully I won't have to create this interface from scratch. Hence my interest in the Glasgow board.

It is certainly possible (and fairly easy even) to implement MDIO support. It is however not currently implemented. Feel free to open a request on the issue tracker.
